The Archaeological Museum of Aigion is housed in the restored neoclassical market of Aigion and has a display of artefacts from the region of ancient Aigialeia. The neoclassical market of Aigion was built or inaugurated in 1890, according to the inscription preserved on the lintel above the north entrance. The fact that the architect Ernst Ziller worked in Aigion at this period, producing mainly designs for churches, has led to the market being ascribed to him, though this is not confirmed in the written sources.
