The imposing volumes of the tower and its annexes dominate on the coast of the village of Ouranoupolis. The tower, which, among the many towers of Chalkidiki, was the only one inhabited till recently, belonged to the “Prosphorion” metochion (monastery dependency), the original kernel of which was owned by the Monastery of Vatopedi, Mount Athos, as early as 1018.
