The Archaeological Museum of Amphipolis, a purely local museum, presents the great archaeological wealth of ancient Amphipolis and its greater area. Most of the ancient city’s excavation was accomplished between 1956 and 1984 by the archaeologist Dimitrios Lazaridis, who also established the Museum. The Museum itself was built during the years 1984-1995.
